Rules and Regulations

Classes taught at Dance Factory East aim to establish high-quality, safe training. All classes, activities, and events held by Dance Factory East encourage and support all youth, regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, culture, language, religion, socioeconomic status, gender, disability, or sexual orientation.

Contacting the Studio

  • Tuition is due either in full or in “Installments”

  • Tuition paid in full is due at time of registration

  • Tuition paid in installments is due in terms (Please find due dates on Registration Form)

  • Tuition for Private lessons/competition rehearsal is due upon attendance.

  • The Tuition Amount is calculated in the “Student Enrollment Form”.

  • Tuition is NON- REFUNDABLE

Tuition

  • All tuition & signed forms must either be “emailed” or “mailed”.

    NOTE: The studio will no longer be able to accommodate tuition and/or forms being dropped of during studio hours.

  • Tuition can be paid via PayPal or Personal Check.

    Regardless of the method of tuition payment, please contact the studio to facilitate payment confirmation.

Payment Options

Bullying and/or Harassment

Dance Factory East will not tolerate bullying and/or harassment of any kind. If it is brought to our attention that a student is violating this standard, there will be a warning. This warning will result in a meeting with a legal guardian to discuss said behavior. After the warning has been issued, any further violations will result in suspension.

Frequent Mild Disciplinary Actions

Frequent Mild Disciplinary Actions (as in Time Outs and/or Verbal warnings) may result in a meeting with a legal guardian.

Behavior Standards

Hands-on learning approach

We will use touch corrections with our students to demonstrate and encourage correct movement techniques. If you or your student is uncomfortable with our Hands-on learning approach, please let us know in writing.

Correction/Instruction Policy

  • 10-minutes early - Preferred | This allows students to get settled calmly & prepare for class.

  • Arrive dressed to participate - Preferred | Dressing rooms are provided if needed.

  • Ten (10) minute “grace period” | If a student arrives after our grace period, the student may be asked to observe the class for that day.

  • Make-up Classes | If for any reason you need to miss a class, you’re able to schedule a makeup class.

    • Schedule a make-up class by sending an email or text to the studio.

Attendance

  • Water Bottle - Required for class.

  • All lost and found items will be placed in a defined bin

  • Dance Factory East is NOT responsible for any lost or stolen property.

Personal Belongings

  • No Jewelry (except for small stud earring).

  • No Smartwatches.

  • Clothing - No inappropriate wording or graphics

  • Tights.

    • Can be worn in any class.

    • Must be pink.

    • Must be worn underneath Leotard.

General Dress Code

  • Girls

    • Ballet

      • Pink Tights

      • Plain Leotard of any color

      • Shorts or Skirt permitted

      • Pink or Skin colored Ballet slippers

      • Hair pulled away from the face in a bun

    • Jazz

      • Plain Leotard of any color

      • Shorts/ Leggings

      • Tan Jazz shoes- preferred

      • Hair pulled away from the face

    • Tap

      • Any Shirt or Leotard

      • Any Pants (except jeans)

      • Laced Black Tap Shoes - preferred

      • Hair pulled away from the face

    • Lyrical

      • Plain Leotard of any color

      • Shorts/Leggings

      • Ballet Flats or Half Sole Shoes

      • Hair pulled away from the face

    • Contemporary

      • Plain Leotard of any color

      • Black or Tan Socks

      • Pink Tights
